La réception de l’œuvre de Patrick Modiano par la presse française de 1968 à 2019
Résumé
Irreducible to its textual materiality, the meaning of a literary work is also constructed by the interpretations made by the readers. The reception of literary works in the press reflects the horizon of expectation at the same time as it participates in its construction. It is this interaction between Patrick Modiano's work and the French press that we propose to analyze in the present study with a double chronological and thematic approach. First of all, it is a question of thinking about the modianesque work as it has been perceived in an evolving way in the French press over time, from 1968 to 2019. Then, some major questions that interest and divide the press are analyzed: the question of simplicity, the question of the same, as well as the question of the Occupation period in the modianesque work. Finally, we analyze the construction of Patrick Modiano's image through the reception of his work by the press.
Irréductible à sa matérialité textuelle, le sens d’une œuvre littéraire est également construit par les interprétations faites par les lecteurs. La réception des œuvres littéraires dans la presse reflète l’horizon d’attente en même temps qu’elle participe à sa construction. C’est cette interaction entre l’œuvre de Patrick Modiano et la presse française que nous proposons d’analyser dans la présente étude avec une double approche chronologique et thématique. Dans un premier temps, il s’agit de penser l’œuvre modianesque tel qu’elle a été perçue de façon évolutive dans la presse française au fil du temps, de 1968 à 2019. Ensuite, quelques questions majeures qui intéressent et divisent la presse sont analysées : la question de la simplicité, la question du même, ainsi que la question de l’écriture de l’Occupation dans l’œuvre modianesque. Enfin, il s’agit d’analyser la construction de l’image de Patrick Modiano à travers la réception de son œuvre par la presse.
