Sociologie des Observateurs de Faune-france Territorialisés (SOFT)

Abstract : the Soft project's purpose is to analyze the profiles of participants to the Faune France database from the results of two quantitative surveys and a series of interviews. We mix sociological and geographical researches. Faune France is a database gathering informations on all faunistic taxa, available to lay people through different portals and a smartphone app named NaturaList. We surveyed the entire database metadata for the period of June 2017-December 2018. We were able to sort out several profiles of practice of reporting. This survey was supplemented by a web poll for which we received 1469 valid answers. This enabled us to get more precise on trajectories of contributors. We also interviewed 15 people posting photos on the gallery of Faune France.
